Is the world getting more liberal? The United States elected the first African American President, and the people are in such a better mood....except the dred of a bad economy. But a good portion of the Nation, inlcuding republicans who voted for him, were uplifted by the evacuation of the SLIMY TEXAN, Darth Cheney, The Orthodontists delist RICE, and the Evil Rumsfeld, who by the way..if you didnt know, is the person who chose SADDAM Hussein to lead Iraq in the early 1980's.
Americans are fearful, but happier. More than half the people now have a moderate amount of faith in the GOvernment and the MAN in the WHite HOUSE.
Its such a pleasure to see OBAMA on the TV.....on the News......rather than the disgust I got daily seeing the Chimp and hearing his annoyhing voice, which had the same effect on me as someone sandpapering my ass!
Liberalism....and I am not sure that is the correct word.. Maybe tolerance and understanding...are better words. Iceland, that tiny Nation, which is a very happy country.....whose heat is provided by geothermal energy.....has elected, not only a WOMAN as their new PRIME MINISTER....but a LESBIAN! A very interesting fact... It shows, the people voted for the womans qualifications.....not her sexual orientation. So it now shows, not only do you not need a PENIS to be elected to top office...but you dont even need to DESIRE one....
There is another message to this...That the people are not worried that their children will run and become a LESBIAN. They are not worried about morality....They have the intelligence to know that sexuality is determined in the DNA.....Hooray for ICELAND......I guess they prime minister won and licked the competition.

Buttermilkfear
I am a person that loves everything.....well almost. Music, I can handle most...except Heavy Metal....I even like some creative rap, and some opera, especically Puccini....When it comes to food, I love almost everything in Western Culture.... I am adventurous.. It has been very hard for me to understand people who do not like APPLES, or tomatoes or carrots. Some people vomit at the taste of beets...just cant understand that at all. APPLES..???
When I was growing up my mother ate Persimmons, Blue cheese,Anchovies, Avodcados, yougurt and Butter milk. Those, early in life made me gag. Blue cheese I was sure was colleted from inbetween dirty toes, yougurt was spoiled stuff...Avocados were disgustingly mushy and yucky......and butter milk was the most disgusting..Make me gag....even at the thought...Liquid PUS.... Even as an adult, after I got used to eating anchovies..(still taste fishy but I will eat them)....I learned to love to have freshblue cheese in salad dressing....Avocados are now one ofmy favorites....I like Yougurt.....but until today, the thought of drinking buttermilk still made me gag...JUST THE THOUGHT>>>>> well, I bought a quart of it..and decided I will try again......Even while opening the container, my throat started closing up, my stomach twitched....but I managed to down a few swigs....and I survived. It didt make me gag, or get grossed out. It probably was all mental...Not that I am going to love it, but I got over the Phobia of Buttermilk....I make some pancakes later on and they were great,,,,,I made a syrup of maple syrup 50/50 with rasberry no sugar perserves....The following is a poem that I wrote to John Lennons Memory....

inauguralNite
Although I wasnt in Washington in person today, I was there in spirit. The 15 degree temperature was not felt, as my spirit soared above the crowd, absorbed the energy generated by almost 2 million souls, heating up not only my heart, but the hearts of all America. I entered the Television screen, and got a close up view of all the dignitaries. I felt seeing Bill and Hillary, Jimmy and ROSLIND, Ted Kennedy....Bruce Springstein, and Aretha Franklin...as I was visiting old friends.... Aretha looks like a big Choclate candy bar wrapped up with a giant bow on top (HER Rediculous HAT...which was a bow...far to big for her head)
I flew over the crowd noticing, tears flowing from men and women, both black and white....race was not an issue..This happening made woodstock seem miniscule...and peacefullness prevailed..without the help of cannabis or psycholodelics. 1.8 million people and there wasnt even one act that required police intervention.... That in itself is a major miracle. The speech was so incredible, that Pat Bucannan, was so immpressed....that he said it was the best inaugural speech in history....and he is such a conservative. Maybe the sob's is softening....

Only hours to go before the NEW American Hero becomes the 44th President of the UNITED STATES. Should I be called to visit the stars tonight, and get an angelic guide to the heavens, I will feel fulfilled that I had lived long enough, not only to see the man on the moon, the miracle of the microwave, cell phone and computer, but the miracle of a black man, voted in as PResident of the United States. I am so proud that the COuntry that I love, has grown up. They are not completely matured, and they have a long way to go, but they made their first major step in practicing what they preach......Democracy.....freedom and justice for all.
It is so wonderful to hear men and women, black and white....crying....yep, tears flowing down cheeks,grunts, groans, and funny voices...emotions erupting....all in happiness....And it is a great feeling....
Tomorrow Grannys is offering our special Champagne punch, and Soul FOOD...in honor of our new president...and his culture. ANd although that Obama was born in Hawaii, and grew up with a white family......he is still a black man....and in honor of his people, we are serving a buffet of soul food, cooked by YOURS TRULY. Fried Chicken in bacon cream sauce, Corn bread, Collard greens with Smoked Neck Bones and PINTO beans with neck bones.....and Macaroni and cheese and of course GRAPE SODA....We personally didnt bring the steriotypical WATERMELON, which might have been misinterpreted as racist....which we are NOT!... I love friend chicken and watermelon...and for the multitudes who do not know, in HUNGARY....Chicken and watermelon are two of the most popular foods.....

The worse president that the United States has ever had, has moved out of the WHIte House. ANd, I assume, where ever Chney was living..that place might have been evacuated o get the stench out, but likeblack mold, it might take a lot of cleaning to achieve that. KAte Clinton, author and commedianne, said on the Rachel MAddow show, that they are going to have a"saging".....a ceremony of burning sage leave, to rid the White House and other places of the evil spirits that still might be lingering on. The Natives of Peru, did this atop MAchu Picho, after Bush left visiting that ancient place. Its kind of funny, and very sad, that the only people BUSh and Cheney fooled were us...so called educaed Americans. Well, in the begining more people were fooled, inlcuding some Democrats, who voted for the IRAQI war, by the end of his Dictatorship, his rating went down to a supposed 27%..but this took economic collapse of the BAnks, corporations, tens or hundreds of thousands of people loosing their homes and businesses....and the creidt crunch affecting everyone except the wealthy wealthy people, who prospered under his inept rule.
Last night, I watch Obama and Bidens Whistle Stop train ride, on their glorious trip to Washington. The people went wild. Screamng, yelling, singing. Closeups show so many wiping away tears of joy..joy that had been completely diminish during the last eight years. Both in Wilmington and Baltimore, the energy of the crowd was electric...if we could have harness this energy, we could have illuminated each cities for years. This type of energy is what is need...what WAS NEEDED, to rid of us the BUSH and Cheneyand RUMSFELD dictatorship...but the common people didnt have any leaders during the past 8 years to fight the Far RIght.... they gave up....the spirit of the 1960's, the hippies...the "pot heads" the peacnicks, the free love advocates..and all those who spread the good times that we remember from those times.
The Old Hippies like me, are tired, disallusioned, and just dont have the energy to fight anymore.

Confusion
Barbara Comerford,friend,lawyer and saint, invited me to a dinner for WLIB...well, it was a fund raiser, so I thought. She said since I am opening up an ethnic art gallery, this would be a good forum to meet people and network. She listed a number of people who were going..that I already knew and I wold feel comfortable. Miss Vivian, who was Chief Counsul of the NJ School of Medicine and Dentisty, Miss Pamela,who is Vp of a huge CORP called MECO, Melanie Morola, Public Defenders Office,, all who are customers of mine, and on a friendly relationship...and frequent all the parties at Barbaras house...I was told that the NJ Secretary of State wold be there ,as well as GOV Corizes second in command(forgot the exact title) and that I would adore them both...and they aqre art collectors etc.........
The affair, which I thought was for WLIB radio...A LIBERAL STATION, WAS TO BE HELD AT Maggianos LITTLE ITALY RESTUARANT AT RIVERSIDE SQUARE....A FANCY SCHMANCY PLACE.
I didnt know the dress code, so I whipped up a costume. SInce I am an antique and art dealer, I just might be expected to wear something a bit off the wall...but not too far off. PANCHO, gave me a fabulous tuxedo jacket for xmas, which I thought I would never wear....so as to appease him...and create a :look" I wore a pair of black pants, a new HANUKA SHIRt...BROWN AND CREAM AND BLACK STRIPES, AND THE TUXEDO JACKET...dIFFERENT...BUT NOT REALLY WIERD....
i ARRIVED EARLY...AND THOUGHT I WAS LATE... The first shock was that WLIB, is not a radio station....but stood for WOMEN LAWYERS IN BERGEN(county)adn the event, was a serioes of speeches, having to do with DIVERSity....all about how we need to intergrate ,not only LAW, but all professions, corporations, board of directors....and just about everywhere....not only in NAME, but in feeling.....We need all cultures, all ideas to mix, to make life better, and in the long run, how it will be finantially beneficial as well. Judge SANDRA ROBINSON, AT WHOSE HOUSE AI SPENT TWO NEWS EVE AGO....WAS ONE OF THE SPEAKERS....AS WAS mISS PAMELA,MISS VIVIAN,BARBARA, AND MR AVEDCEDO....WHO IS HEAD OF THE PUBIC DEFENDERS OFFICE. I FOUND OUT THAT MOST OF THEM WENT TO LAW SCHOOL TOGETHER, AND THEY HAVE BEEN FREIND EVER SINCE.. EACH SPEECH CAME FROM THE HEART. They explained in detail why it would be so beneficial to eveyone everywhere....if we had a greater diversity of culture..starting with the lawyers.........When Corzines second in command got up, she readiated such warmth.....and feeling of what is needed to made not only NJ better,but the entire Nation..
Monday is MArtin Luther King DAy, followed by the inauguration......a day of incredible history in the making....Each person included how far America has come...and the joy that this is bring to all of them.....most of the speakers were black,..except Barbara and MR Avecedo.....all speeches were interesting, and not something we had to listen to before we ate......
After all the speeches were made, Barbara asked if anyone had questions or wanted to make comments...Now I am not a member of the organization....(of course) I definatley am not a woman lawyer) nor as articulate as many of them. But when everyone was through talking, I took the microphone. I made a short and simple statement. We in the room are all diverse, as you would like things to be. YOu are here not for show, because you belive in what you do and what you say. AND THERE IS A LOT OF LOVE IN THIS ROOM......AND FORM THIS LOVE YHOU WILL MEET THE SUCCESS YOU DESIRE.
i HAD TO SAY SOEMTING, BECAUSE THE GOODNESS OF THE PEOPLE REALLY CAME THROUGH. i ALSO ME ANOTHER CUSOTMER OF MINE"FRANK MARRA" WHO IS THE HEAD EXECUTIVE OF THE BERGEN COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION, he collects Coka Cola Collectibles, NYC Subway things...and political buttons.... Barbara introduced me to the Secretary of STATE "Miss Wells"...Barbara who is like my publicist, told her about the store and upcoming Ethnicty GALLERY....well, within minutes I was invited to TRENTON, for a personal tour of the African and NAtive AMerican art c
collection in the Trenton State Museum...and got names of people who can further my meeting artists....etc
Another lady lawyer saw my business card in someones hand....and came over to me..she said"You gave my husband a wonderful deal on a wind up record player a few weeks ago...he loved your store..." all in all it was a very uplifting evening....
And finally, the food. The evening opened with stuffed mushrooms(huge) and fried calamari..w/sauce... the best calamari I ever had in the world......that was the appetizers....the dinner started with bread and butter, and a finely chopped salad with avocado and fresh blue cheese(maybe gorgonzola) and sliced tomatoes with mozzerela and drizzeled with balsamic vinegar...then they served family style, salmon florentine(w/spinach) giant noodles in a cream sauce with button mushrooms an chicken, CHicken w/cheese and ham(all fused together) in a cutlet....but not parmesan, and gnocchi in vodka sauce.....followed by fresh fruit(wasnt ripe) and chocolate covered creampuffs filled with vanilla icecream.....
The comradere was incredible...and though, I had no ral place there....I knew a bunch of people, and fit right in with the conversation...when it came to politics, diveristy etc. And what made me feel so very special.....is that she calls me her spiritual brother... Her brother was killed in a horrible accident years ago on RT 17 in PARAMUS...and BArbara fought for legislation, that makes knowledge of sending out a defective vehicle in volved in a fatal crash..MANSLAUGHTER.
Yes, there was a lot of love in that room tonight.....

JAN10
Starting with the morning......Obama was on with Geroge Stephanopolis...to me the highlight of the speech, was not economic insights, not about ending the war, but that the FIRST DOG, will come from a SHELTER and not a breeder. Getting dogs from shelters and not breeders has been espoused by the PREsident Elect....and jus tmight be brought to light to the entire country. HE IS NOT BUYING a dog, but rescuing one.
What a wonderful message... Hopefully this will put a stop to some of the millions of dogs ending up in the gas chamber.
Yesterday, with dire warnings of ice and snow, we expected no customers at all, and no income for the day.... How happy weeere we to be crowded, with customers and we had a relatively good day of buying and selling....Not that this would interest any of my readers, but possibly, this is a reflection of the total economy changing for the better....the highlight, which gave me a chuckle, was a man, who came in early, mumbled inhoherently, ran upstairs,..on his way down, I asked him if he needed help. He mumbled something ...and ran out...got into his car, and smashed into my new truck...which proceeded to destroy his car... he speed away, dented and more confushed. Nothing happened to my truck at all. This was the third time that he visited us in one week.....and wonder why he graced our store...only to ruin his car?

can snuff out a millions souls
before admitting
there can be another way
To view the world
and appease the gods and spirits
Destiny prearranged
by minds deranged
by belief systems based on fantasy
corrupts and perverts reality
making the world not much different
than the world presented
in a three dimensional cartoon
comedy horror show
ending when the PIG says
"that's all folks"
and is shot to death

2009begins
Happy New Year..Happy Obama SAD Bill Richardson ...Bad Gov of Illinois (can spell that weasels name) Bye Bye BUSH.....Bye Bye Cheney and the only Brown Rice I want to see is brown rice in Thai or Chinese restuarants.
THe last day of tghe NEW YEAR and the first few days showed a marked increase in business.....well, at least people ocming out to browse...Maybe becuase of the vacation...they had the time, or peole are getting into a more comfortable mind set, with a new Adminisgtration looming in the very near future...I think we are all a bit optimisitic...Anyone could do better than BUSH and company.....I would have excdhanged BUSH for Nixon, even Putin....and I never ever thought those words would come out of my fingers(well I am typing not talking).
I think Obama is a smart man, with good intentions, and is trying to pick good peole to work with.
We are looking forward to starting a new project for Granny's. We are going to creae an art gallery, to specialize in Native American and African American art..of all types. Paintings, mixed media, sculpture, photography,and even installations. I am presently search for, and interviewing people.
