I have been afraid of spiders my entire life.. Arachnophbia. the technical name for being afraid of spiders....has become a word many people know, since a movie was made with that name. I used to be terrified.....but the terror has been replaced with just plain scary feeling....the creeps...
I dont know why i am afraid of them....no tramatic incident to my memory.....never the less....I hate them. TONITE in the store...i saw a great big hairy one....with a thick body....in a web that it wove inside the metal frame of a furntiure dolly......Well, when i saw it...there was a little bit of a shock, and I deicded I had to made it go to SPIDER heaven...How? Well it was out in the open...and I couldnt swat it with anything...so I found some spray...that we remove labels with.....I sprayed it..... it seemed to first get bigger....with its legs outstretchs...then it started shaking the web.....and doing stragne things....as if it were drunk....I walked away.....didnt want to watch the final moment when its spirit left its body.....the spider energy....that would go into cyber space, or wherever this energy goes.
When I returned later, the dead spider hung in the web. I didnt reallay feel guilty....but just started thinking about life. The taking of life....is wrong in the HiNDU religion. Every living thing..has a spirit...and it is wrong to take it..
For it might be an incarnation of a human.
But spiders bite, and can cause poisoning.....and infections....and skin disease. I was bit three times, the night before I went to Hungary early this month......and had to go to the DR to get antibiotics...so I feel justified....but what about. killing other living beings...Mice and Rats spread disease, chew thru wires and cause fires.... so we can justify those.... But should we be killing birds, fish and animals???? to eat????? To hunt???? ISnt it healthier to eat plant protein??.. Now wwe communicate with cats and dogs....we wouldnt eat our pets...Is it different to eat a pig, who is smarter than a dog. WHo can communicate, learn tricks and be a great pet...just like a dog? How about killing a baby lamb? What about torturing veal calves..so we can eat tender white meat??????? and am I a hypocrite even writing this because I am not a vegetarian.???? I think about this. and wonder...about the horrors of factory farming..where animals are raised and tortured so we have cheap meat. Animals are terribly abused....chickens have their beaks cut, and their feet clipped...and put into cages where they cannot move....
And cows, hit on the head with a club(sometimes) or other times..their throat slit and then hung up alive on meat hooks for the blood to drain out of their body....slowly dying, in pain and scared!!!
Someday...its possible, we will be horrified that we humans......had factory farming......and created animal concentration camps.....whose horrors, make the HALOCAUST ....Disneyland.
and all of this horror..only backfires on us...the eating of meat has been found to be the major cause of heart disease, and contributes to cancer...so we do pay for our deeds. KARMA in action.!!?
Ok, lets lighten up..... New stuff in the store.....Fabulous fabulous two door Country French armoire with carved flowers and birds....the wood looks like walnut....a used dining room set....flame mahogany top...with 8 Chippendale Chairs..and matching breakfront.....Not antique but nice.... a cheap walnut office desk and matching credenza...but very nice style.....and clean.....a very nice solid mahogany sidebaord..Chippendale with ball and claw feet.....A leather or faux leather high back tufted desk chair....paintings and prints....benches, Chinese Chippendale Bedroom set quite spectacular....14 outrageous chairs....made of policed bone that looks like IVORY.....and a giant....11,14feet conference tables....inlaid mahogany and leather....largest table i have ever had in 45 years....a bunch of fabulous antique cutglass....bowls, compotes, dishes...glasses, Waterford, vases...Pair of Majolica Lamps with roses from ITALY, Pair of Crystal boudoir lamps....Pair of inlaid Pembroke tables....walnut or mahog....and so much more......you cannot belive how much stuff comes in.....including the best mahogan 4 poster queen size 4 poster bed...complete with new mattress and all the drapery,dust ruffles etc.....French Empire inlaid chest of drawers with ladies head and wings in bronze.....etc
THE CRAZY PERSON WHO THREW A BOOK AT OBAMA LAST WEEK OR TWO WEEKS AGO...WAS IN OUR STORE TODAY...THIS NUT.....IS A CUSTOMER FOR MANY YEARS. HE MAY EVEN READ MY BLOG. HE IS A GENIUS LEVEL, RESIDENT, OF PAKISTANI DECESNT.....ALTHOUGH HE IS AN ANTIQUE DEALER, HE CLAIMS TO BE A PHILOSPHER...AND TOLD ME HE HAS FIGURED OUT HOW TO FIND WORLD PEACE THRU USING MATHEMATIC FORMULAS... HE TRIED TO EXPLAIN THEM TO ME FOR A FEW YEARS...AND ALTHOUGH, I KNOW HE IS SMART...TO ME, THEY DONT MAKE SENSE.....MAYBE TO HIM IT MAKES SENSE..LIEK CRAZY THINGS SEEM TO MAKE SENSE IN DREAMS WE HAVE, YET UPON WAKENING...THEY ARE NONSENSE.
HE TOLD ME HE KNOWS JOE BIDEN (I DONT THINK SO) AND JOE TOLD HIM TO THROW THE BOOK UP ON THE STAGE...AND OBAMA WILL PICK IT UP LATER.....AND READ IT.. BUT THE PRESS MADE A BIG DEAL OUT OF THIS....AND SAID HE THREW IT AT HIM, AS THE GUY THREW A SHOE AT BUSH.....HE SAID.....SINCE BIDEN TOLD THE POLICE AND SECRET SERVICE THAT HE TOLD HIM TO THROW IT...NO ARREST AND CHARGES WERE MADE.. THIS IS HIS STORY......HE SHOWED ME THE VIDEO ON THE COMPUTER(YOU TUBE) AND SOME ARTICLES.. NOW HE IS FAMOUS.....HE IS A LEGEND IN HIS OWN MIND.
