6million dollar home,New recipes,$1250 Dust Pan

I did an appraisal tongiht in a 6 million dollar home...we had to drive thru the gates, which opened only after we were announced....The owners were getting a divorce, asfter at least 12 years of marriage....The place, no doubt was well appointed with new, Deisgner...name brand, fancy schmancy (and overpriced)...ala
the emperors new clothes....furnishings, by their decorator.

They wanted to get an idea of what to ask for these items at an estate sale....Some of the names of the deisgners were obscure to me....Because I never dealt with these brand before...But, it was definatley a learning situtation...Rose Tarlow, deisgned and made sofas,,,for the price I paid for my house...and her fabric was EXTRA ...and other names of people who deisgned mirrors, rugs, tables, consoles etc....The housea and contents were fabulous.. But 25,000 for a china cabinet, 14,000 for a bed, 40,000 for a chandlier, that came down from its two story handing place, by pushing a motor..and it slowly came down to let the owner clean it...

They paid 5000 to make a chair, fabric extra...and the 12 dining room chairs were 25,000, the table 10thousand, and that was a bargain for that one...The best bargain she got was a tapestry for 5000, that should have been ten..The woman was very attractive, full of life and very like able....BUt, with all this wealth, she was getting a divorce..and I guess not the happiest camper on the block... The longer I live and the older I get, the more I learn, that its not what you own, or how ealthy you are....If you are happy, you can live without a 40,000 dollar light fixture.....let the happiness inside make your life glow..and light your way.

Most of my recipes come about...by looking what is in the frigde...and the closet..and try to make something tasty out of them, with a minimum of work....You see, I admit I am lazy......and want to eat something quickly and without fuss.
Tinoght I raided the freezer...there was one loney filet of salmon, in a plastic bag, waiting to be released from its sub zero captivity. I put the bag and salmon into the micro wave for a minute, cutting off one corner of the bag for steam to escape. When slighly thawed, I removed the salmon, and put it in a pottery plate.
I took some dry dill, a little Golds white horseradish in a cup with I cant belive its not butter, a quirt or two of Worschester sauce, a hit of salt and black pepper..put it in the microwave for a minute and half..and let it set. Then pour the mixture over the samon to marinate for a few minutes.
Meanwhite, there was a box of Potatoe Buds...(Instand mashed potaotes) which can become delicious with the right preparation.....SO.....I chopped up half a lrge onion, put it in a bowl with I can belive its not Clorestrol, salt, pepper, worsterchire sauce and a teaspoon of curry powder and microwaved it for 2 min....enough to cook the curry but not burn the onions..
Then following the direction for making the INSTANT potaotes,...I just added this curry mixture at the end....while putting the fish that was soaking in dill and horseardish sauce in the microwave for 3 minutes more....
AND THAT WAS MY MEAL TONIGHT.. VERY DELICIOUS.......QUICK AND ALMOST HEALTHY.

YOU JUST MIGHT NOT BELVIE THIS: WE PUT ON EBAY...A BRASS ANTIQUE DUST PAN. NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT IT EXCEPT THAT IT WAS STAMPED BY ITS MAKER...AND THAT IT WAS MADE FOR A LIGHT HOUSE OFF STATEN ISLAND.....A VERY LONG TIME AGO. WE HAVE LEARNED THAT NAMES ON THINGS SELL THINGS ON EBAY.....I( STARTED THE BIDDING AT 45.00, i WAS THRILLED WHEN IT HIT 125.00 I WAS AMAZED WHEN IT HIT 400, MY EYES POPPED AT 500...AND THEN IT HIT 1025.00 omg!!!! AND WHEN IT FINALLY FINISHED. THIS DUSTPAN, SOLD FOR 1250. nOW WE HOPE THAT THIS MISHUGENAH WILL PAY.
