Happy New Year

To some, the High Holy Days are hear.... 'In the Culture of the Hebrews, the New Year was held, after the crops were harvested....and the summer was over. They didnt have a Holiday December season....Jesus wasnt to be born yet for another 2700 years or so,....and their months were different. But, since it still was celebrated every year.....the basic idea of a new year is the same.
Now if I was in charge of making Holidays... I would have chosen, early Spring as teh NEW YEAR. The begining....of a new season..When everything starts growing again, but since the mideast, didnt have winters like we do, and there was no snow for the first flowers to push thru, the dramatic changes of the seasons werent as apparent as we have them in other parts of the world.....
So tonight at sun down, we (who ever you want to included in the WE) start to celebrate a new year... 5700 and something....I lost count......ALl the religous people go to the TEMPLE and start praying. They have been praying for 5700 years...and tell me has anything changed? NO! There are still wars, and diseases, and famines, and tornadoes, and earthquakes, and tidal WAVES, AND HURRICANES...AND TERRORISTS,,,,,BUT..WHAT OTHER GROUP HAS SURVIVED 5700 YEARS AS A COHESIVE GROUP, ALWAYS CHANGING, ALWAYS MODERNIZING,....BUT WHAT EVER THE MAGIC OF THOSE PRAYERS CONTAIN, IT HAS HELD THE JEWS TOGETHER THROUGH THE MOST HORRIBLE OF TIMES,,,,,FROM THE PERSECUTIONS OF THE ROMANS, THE SPANISH INQUISITION, THE HOLLOCAUST, THE POGROMS OF THE POLES AND RUSSIANS, AND THE LESSER KNOWS POGRAOMS IN OTHER COUNTRIES...LIKE ENGLAND, THE MIDEAST.....ET ALL. Even after 66% of all the Jews in Europe were murdered, and the rest of the entire world looked on...INCLUDING THIS SO CALLED PEACE LOVING UNITED STATES OF AMERICA..... they came out stronger than ever, and formed a Jewish State of Israel. ANd in some ways, they only repeated the horrors of their opporesers, on the Palestinians, who, in some way are to blame for the violence....but not in all ways. Little Children shold be murdered regardless which side of the fence they are on.
Unfortunatley the leader of the Palestinians. Yasser ARRAFAT, stole most of the monies that were given to the Palestinians for the purpose of making them heallthier and wealthier.... The people over their are mostly uneducated and belive what they were told.....Had they had better housing, education and food and medicine, with the money ARRAFAT stole, more people might be on hand. Arrafat knew, if peace had been made, he would be less important, and there would be less for him to steal.....He in an abstract was, was like Bush and Cheney to American.. ALl the money was emptied out of the treasury.....but the entire country there is in poverty, with a few exceptions.
Back to NEW YEARS. Lets hope each year, that peace might be closer....it would be at our door, if there wasnt so much profit in WAR. Halleburton, Cheneyhs company got 368 Billion DOllars before the IRaqi war started.....to rebuild IRAQ...WHen that happened one knew the war was inevitable......whY it was onlyh about money....You think BUSH gave a shit about the people of IRAQ???that Saddam was a ruthless killer? Of course not, We killed more Iraqis than SADDAM ever did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE ONLY WAY WE CAN HAVE PEACE IS WHEN THE COMMON MAN WANTS IT..AND WILL STOP LISTENING TO THE POLITICIANS....THE COMMON MAN MUST STAND UP AND SAY NO MORE WAR I WONT GO...IF NO ONE WILL FIGHT THERE WILL BE NO MORE WAR..SO, THAT IS WHY THE POLITICIANS, HAVE TO SPREAD LIES AND HATRED....AND MAYBE EVEN BOMB THEIR OWN COUNTRY TO BLAME IT ON SOMEONE ELSE..
Tonight, all the Chickens of the world shake in fear....this is CHICKEN SOUP SEASON...pots all over the world, in JEWISH HOMES, were bubbling with savory chicken soup, some laced with fresh dill and garlic, and many, accompanied by Matzo balls. This is a tradition...that started proabbly in Eastern Europe.....and spread round the world.......If I had a time machine, I would take it on a trip tonight, and go backwards in history..and find the inventor of the Matzoh Ball...what prompted someone to make the first one. Probably, they had a catastrophy....all theri matohs were severly damamged.....broken somehow into minute pieces.....and they figured out how to eat it...by adding liquid, and flavoring and eggs and forming a ball and cooking it......in soup..... If we could find the first yenta who made the matzoh ball, we could have Israel come our with a commemorative stamp series.. One with the Womans face, one with a matzo ball, one with a matzo bry (that is scrambled eggs with soften matzoes in it and onion) and the foruth stamp(in a block of four) would have her family at the table eating.....and if you really want to get creative, they could have the glue on the back of the stamp taste like a matzoh ball whem licked..
The nice part of having a blog, is that I write for myself...I just let my stream of consciousness go on and on.....and once in a while I come across something, funny, or creative, or even some good ideas?
I leave this New Yeas blog with wishing all the readers, Jews or Not, relgious or not, Atheist or not....or confused....or not.....with wishes of Peace, good health, and happiness....
