Waiting4Thestorm

Siting by the computer, my link to the outside world, waiting for the storm that is supposed to be very bad....or... completely blow over.....should we be worried or not? They say its a 50/50 chance..which in reality means they have no idea....so typical of the weather people. Between the economy, the weather this winter...filled with snow storms and freezing weather, the election and inauguration, business has been so rotten......that I am waiting for a sudden surge of people packing into the store.......to spend money.
Today is day 3 on Atkins.....I am not sure exactly how close I am to the minimum of 20 grams of carbs.....which is all you are allowed to consume..to melt off the weight...because one never knows how many grams of carbs are in anything....I want to give you all recipes for very low carb and salt items, that are extrememly delish...I bought all natural ground beef 90 percent fat free. YOu know that you cant have a burger in a bunl..No bread..so you have to have it plain...regular catsup is a no no beucase it has sugar and cornsyrup in it...so MAKE YOUR OWN. Simple and more tasty than the best bottled Catsup on the shelf.
Take two cups of tomatoe puree. add two packets of SPLENDA with fiber.....roughtly half to a whole teaspoon of cinammon, half teaspoon of garlic powder, a spritz of tobasco sauce , a few tablespoon of cider vinegar. I didnt add any salt but you can. Taste, and add to make it perfect for you. You can also add other spices of your choice...YOu can make several flavors...like GARLIC,Cilantro,Curry,Tarragon....etc When it tastes good, slowly bring it to a boil and then let it simmer for ten min. This catsup has only 5 grams per 1/4 of a cup......so you might use one gram on your burger.....which makes it great....
I cooked one cup of broccoli (very low carb).... sauted a teaspoon of curry powder in olive oil for a minute on high in a micro wave.toss the cooked broccoli with the curried oil, then add HEavy cream (no carbs) add a pinch of salt (I didnt..for blood pressure issues) back to the microwave for a minute on high...or until the cream bubbles.....toss with a spoon...YUM. put on plate with hamburger topped with your homemade catsup and a mixed salald..with a dressing of olive oil, vinegar(or lemon juice),water, fresh garlic, black pepper and grated parmigian cheese>>>use just enoght to dampen and coat the greens....For dessert, slice half a cup of stawberries, add one or two Splendas with fiber....whip heavy cream with a splash of almond or vanilla flavoring, a sprinkle of cinnamon....top the stawberries....with the whipped cream....and you have a very low carb meal. maybe 7 grams of carbs....
